Ayslum
The Installation ‘The Asylum’ is a reimagining of the rooms of a French Mental Asylum in 1944, a physical illustration to bring to life the sense of creative expression without social constraint apparent in works created by patient’s, whilst recognising the real lives lived confined within these walls, the stories behind them, and explore the underlying connection with Jean Dubuffet’s fascination with work by those at the extremes of society. Created for Helly Nahmad gallery London for Frieze Masters 2105.
